Even Mentors Should Have Their Own Mentors!
Why Do We (And You!) Need A Mentor?
As my wife , Eve Grace-Kelly, and I are both trained and experienced coaches and mentors, it may seem peculiar that we would contemplate hiring a high-priced mentor, but it seems pretty simple to us:
Here’s our rationale: Never Assume That You Know It All!
The moment that you do believe you are, or feel you need to be, expert at absolutely everything, you have made a fatal mistake. You’ll get into work overload, try to learn far too many skills, probably fail to master many, and slow down the date when all your hard work pays off. Outsource non-core work, get expert guidance or input, plus seek Joint Venture (JV) partners and build an amazing team.
Eve encountered Jonathan Jay when she was training to be a coach and he was the founder and at that time was MD of The Coaching Academy, the world’s biggest coach training school. After some years, he sold this for many millions and coincidentally, one of our JV partners, Bev James, is now the MD.
Our thinking was that, if Jonathan can achieve that, he must really know his stuff!
His current venture is SuccessTrack and NABO, the National Association of Business Owners, where he and his team of excellent mentors help people take their businesses to the next level and beyond.
So, this year, 2010, we’ve signed up with them to accelerate the growth of our coaching, training and personal development company, Quantum Coaching and Consulting Group.
Here’s to a really challenging but incredibly rewarding 2010 & 2011!
